Additional Learning Tools and Resources
Watching a presentation is a passive activity. Getting information is important ... but its not the destination or end point. Now that you've watched the video, its time to do something with the information you've heard. It's time to act on it. The resources below provide an opportunity to do this. We encourage learners to solidify their learning through the use of one or more of the following resources.
Physics Classroom Tutorial - Newton's Laws Chapter, Lesson 3: Double Trouble
Our written Tutorial is a reliable location to quickly brush up on a topic. Our Double Trouble page complements this video very nicely. You will find more practice problems with answers and worked out solutions.
Regrettably, we have a short supply of resources devoted solely to the solving of Atwood's Machine problems. We hope to address this deficiency in the near future by adding more resources dedicated to this topic. If you are looking for related resources for application of Newton's second law to the solving of one-body problems, you will find plenty of resources by following the following links.
Calculator Pad - Newton's Laws: Questions #11 - #30
Have problems? Try the Calculator Pad. This section of our website consists of problems sets on the various topics of Physics. You will find varying problems with answers and audio-guided solutions. It's a great way to practice. Try any of questions #11 through #30 for practice solving problems with the Newton's second law equation.
Concept Builder: Net Force (and Acceleration) Ranking Tasks
Students love Concept Builders. They provide a great way to solidify your learning on a topic. This one will cause you to think hard about the effects of net force and mass upon acceleration. There are varying levels of difficulty and instant feedback ... and hopefully plenty of dataways.
Concept Builder: Solve It! With F=ma
This Concept Builder provides great practice with solving for acceleration. There are three levels of difficulty with 2-3 unique problems at each level. Feedback to answers is immediate.
Minds On Physics, Part 2: Newton's Laws Module, Missions NL9
If you're serious about learning Physics, there may be no better tool than Minds On Physics. This rigorous program is available on phones and tablets and will give you the workout you need to strengthen your Physics muscles. Mission NL9 has eight different problems to challenge your skill at solving F=ma problems.
