About This Section

This section was added in the Fall of 2024. The section includes a collection of lesson plans and pacing guides that demonstrate how the resources at The Physics Classroom website can be integrated into lesson and unit plans for a variety of course types. We hope to provide teachers with a starting point for how to use the website and incorporate its resources into the daily routines of their classes. Additionally, for those teachers who use Task Tracker, we are creating a collection of pre-built Task Tracker courses that can be used for their classes. When a teacher begins the school year, they can clone the pre-built class with its collection of ready-to-use assignments. Each pre-built class will be fully customizable. Learn more About this Section.

We are also nearing the completion of the Conceptual Physics Course Pack. This downloadable Course Pack will include Think Sheets with Answer Keys for all learning outcomes, Student Lab Sheets with Teacher Guides for all labs, and a pretty awesome collection of Bonus items for each unit. The project should be completed by May of 2025.

Finally, we have plans to add Chemistry Lesson Plans sometime during the 2025-26 school year. Like our Physics Lessons Plans, the Chemistry Lesson Plans will provide a means of coordinating the many numerous Chemistry additions to the website. These include our Chemistry Tutorial section, our Chemistry Concept Builders, our Chemistry CalcPad problem sets, our Chemistry simulations with accompanying Concept Checkers, and our Chemistry curriculum.

Conceptual Physics

This is a course designed for the student who struggles with algebra and may have some fears associated with mathematics. The course consists of 12 units that target topics in Mechanics, Static and Current Electricity, Wave Mechanics, and Ray Optics. While numbers are commonly used to help illustrate relationships and principles, the mathematical rigor of the course is significantly reduced. There is a wide collection of Task Tracker assignments, including Simulations with Concept Checkers, Concept Builders, Minds On Physics missions, customized CalcPad problem sets, and Science Reasoning activities.

Algebra-Based, On-Level Physics

This is a college-prep course designed for the on-level (a.k.a, regular level, general, etc.) Physics student. Comfort with algebra (including some right-angle trigonometry) would be a requirement for this course. The course consists of 14 units that target topics in Mechanics, Static and Current Electricity, Wave Mechanics, and Ray Optics. There is a wide collection of Task Tracker assignments, including Simulations with Concept Checkers, Concept Builders, Minds On Physics missions, customized CalcPad problem sets, and Science Reasoning activities.

Honors Physics

This is a concepts-first, algebra-based Physics course designed for the honors-level student who cherishes conceptual and mathematical challenges.
