Wave Basics
The Wave Basics Concept Builder provides an introduction to the topic of waves, focusing on the nature of a wave, the categories of waves, and the anatomy of a wave. There are three activities included in this Concept Builder. The first activity -
Two Truths and a Lie - provides the learner with three statements about waves; two are true and one is false. The learner must identify the false statement. In the second activity -
Matching Pairs - learners are presented with eight terms or phrases. They must match the terms according to their meaning. In the third activity -
Wave Anatomy - learners must identify a wave crest, a wave trough, a rarefaction, a compression, the wavelength, and the amplitude. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 10 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.
Users are encouraged to open the Concept Builder and explore. There is no need for an activity sheet for this Concept Builder. However, the 28 different questions can be printed. View
