Pendulum Motion: Velocity and Force Analysis

The Pendulum Motion: Velocity and Force Analysis Concept Builder provides an introduction to the nature of a pendulum's motion. The Concept Builder consists 56 questions organized into 14 Question Groups and spread across three activities. In the first activity - v and F Comparison - learners must identify the locations along a pendulum's path where the speed and the restoring force are the greatest and where they are zero. In the second activity - Vector Analysis - learners must identify the direction of the velocity vector, the tension force, and the gravity force at various locations along a pendulum's path. In the third activity - Graphical Analysis - learners must relate various sections of a velocity-time plot for a pendulum's motion to locations along the pendulum's path. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 14 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.
