Getting the Hang of Charge

The Getting the Hang of Charge Concept Builder engages the learner in using three simple rules regarding charge interactions in order to analyze a situation involving as many as three balloons in an effort to determine the charge on one of them. The three rules for charge interactions are: oppositely-charged objects attract each other, like-charged objects repel each other, and a neutral and a charged object attract each other. There are 32 total questions that are organized into 16 different Question Groups and spread across three difficulty levels. The three different levels of difficulty are distinguished from one another in terms of the number of balloons involved and the complexity of their interactions. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 16 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.
