Complete Electron Configurations
The Complete Electron Configurations Concept Builder challenges learners to recognize the electron configuration for the atoms and the ions of various elements. There are three different difficulty levels. The Apprentice Difficulty Level targets student ability to identify the electron configurations for neutral atoms of elements in periods 2 and 3. The Master Difficulty Level targets student ability to identify the electron configurations for neutral atoms of elements in periods 3, 4, and 5. The Wizard Difficulty Level targets student ability to identify the electron configurations for ions of elements in periods 3 and 4. There are a total of 42 questions in this Concept Builder. They are organized into 18 different Question Groups and spread across the three diffculty levels. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 18 Question Groups. The built-in score-keeping makes this Concept Builder a perfect candidate for a classroom activity.
