Formulas and Atom Counting

The Formulas and Atom Counting Concept Builder provides learners an exercise in counting the number of atoms of each element in a formula or group of formulas. Learners will gain a comfort and a confidence with how to interpret formulas, making sense of such things as elemental symbols, subscripts, parenthesis, and coefficients. There are three levels of difficulty with each successive level including more elements and more formulas.There are a total of 36 questions in this Concept Builder. They are organized into 12 different Question Groups and spread across the three difficulty levels. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 12 situations. The built-in score-keeping makes this Concept Builder a perfect candidate for a classroom activity.
