Experiments and Variables
The Experiments and Variables is a Concept Builder that focuses on the concept of a variable in the context of an experiment. Learners must be able to relate the purpose of the experiment to the variables that are involved (both dependent and independent), the design of the experiment, and to the manner in which data would be plotted. There are 12 different situations to analyze and three activities. The activities are titled
Purpose and Variables,
Experimental Design, and
Data Representations. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 12 situations. The built-in score-keeping makes this Concept Builder a perfect candidate for a classroom activity.
Users are encouraged to open the Concept Builder and explore. There is no need for an activity sheet for this Concept Builder. However, the 12 different groups of questions can be printed. View
