Normal Force Card Sort - Directions
NOTE: If you are using Concept Builders with a Task Tracker account, the Health Rating is not saved by the system. It is computed on each session but when progress is retrieved from Task Tracker it will report a Health Rating of "--%".
About Health:
Every time the Check Answers button is tapped or a Difficulty Level is completed, a Health Bar and Health Percent is displayed on the screen. And the same Health Bar and Health Percent is displayed on the Main Menu screen for any Difficulty Level that is completed. Students and teachers may be interested in how this information is computed. Here's the details:
The Concept Builder keeps track of the number of attempts during any session with a particular Difficulty Levels. When answers are checked, it determines the number of inaccurate Card Sorts (a "miss") and the number of cards. It then uses these two bits of information - number of attempts and the number of misses per number possible - to determine a Health Rating. The actual calculation follows the following pattern:
Four Attempts or Less: Health Percent - Subtract 3*Number of Misses / Number Possible from current Health Percent
Five to 10 Attempts: Health Percent - Subtract 5*Number of Misses / Number Possible from current Health Percent
More than 10 Attempts: Health Percent - Subtract 10*Number of Misses / Number Possible from current Health Percent
The Health Percent is displayed on the Main Menu. If a student wishes to repeat the Difficulty Level to improve the Health Percent, then they can tap on the provided button to do so. The best Health Percent is always displayed on the Main Menu. If a student repeats a difficulty level and does worse the second time, it is the best Percent that will be displayed.
